Elliot Anderson became Forest’s third summer signing on Monday as the midfielder checked in from Newcastle United.
The 21-year-old came through the ranks at St. James’ Park and joined the club as an eight-year-old, but now heads from Tyneside to Trentside for his next chapter.
We look at Elliot’s career so far to teach you everything you need to know about our newest arrival…
Born in Whitley Bay, Anderson joined his boyhood club Newcastle at the age of eight, signing his first professional deal in November 2019.
The midfielder progressed through the ranks on Tyneside, and it was in the 2020/21 season where he began to make a real impression, scoring five goals in nine Premier League 2 outings and scoring twice in the EFL Trophy for Newcastle U23s.

Anderson was soon rewarded with a first-team debut for Newcastle, featuring against Arsenal in the third round of the FA Cup in January 2021 before making his Premier League debut against the Gunners nine days later.

Having been involved in the first team setup the following season, a first loan move away from Newcastle materialised for Anderson in January 2022, with Bristol Rovers securing the midfielder’s services to add to their League Two promotion push.
Anderson made an instant impression at the Memorial Stadium, registering eight goals and five assists in just 21 games for the Gas.
His most important contribution came on the final day of the season, scoring the seventh goal in Rovers’ memorable 7-0 win over Scunthorpe United as Joey Barton’s side clinched automatic promotion ahead of Northampton Town on goals scored.

Upon his return to the North East, Anderson established himself as a regular figure in the first team under Eddie Howe, making 27 appearances during the 2022/23 season including 22 in the Premier League.

The 2023/24 season saw Anderson make his Champions League debut, coming in against AC Milan at the San Siro before featuring in Newcastle’s 4-1 victory over Paris Saint-Germain at St. James’ Park.
On the back of making 26 appearances in all competitions last season, Anderson arrives preparing to embark on a new chapter.
