Brandon Aguilera has completed a permanent transfer to Primeira Liga side Rio Ave.
The 21-year-old joined The Reds in July 2022, making his debut in the Carabao Cup against Burnley in August 2023 and his Premier League debut against Brentford in January.
Aguilera also spent time on loan with Guanacasteca, Estoril and Bristol Rovers while at Forest, winning the latter’s Goal of the Season award for a stunning strike against Exeter City.
The attacking midfielder, who has captained Costa Rica at youth level, became one of his nation’s youngest players to feature at a World Cup in 2022 and is now a regular for his country despite his young age, starting against both Brazil and Colombia at Copa América.
Aguilera now heads to Rio Ave, who recently competed in the UEFA Europa League and are an established Portuguese top-flight side.
We wish Brandon all the best for the future.
