Nottingham Forest is delighted to announce the signing of Melissa Johnson.
Johnson joins Carly Davies’ side on a one-year deal from Women’s Championship side Charlton Athletic.
The forward arrives on Trentside having previously played for Bristol City, Sheffield United and Aston Villa in the second tier. Johnson also won the Championship Golden Boot in 2022/23 during her stint at Charlton.
Nottingham Forest Women Head Coach, Carly Davies, said: “We are over the moon to get Mel at the Club. She comes with a wealth of experience having played the majority of her career in the Women’s Championship, winning the title twice.
“Mel is a proven goal scorer with an instinctive edge. We are delighted to have her at the Club and believe she will be a massive part in ensuring we achieve our goal of promotion this season.”
Johnson spoke on her signing: “I’m really happy to be here and I can’t wait to get started. The Club’s got a really big history and what the owner and everyone at Forest are doing is fantastic, they’re really pushing the Club and I can’t wait to be a part of it.”
