Forest returned to winning ways in pre-season with a 2-1 victory over Millwall on Tuesday night.
Goals from Chris Wood and Callum Hudson-Odoi in either half secured the win for Nuno Espírito Santo’s side in their third fixture of pre-season.
The Reds started on the front foot and dominated the opening proceedings, working their way into dangerous positions in the final third.
Eric Moreira’s cross was headed just over the bar by Chris Wood, with Elliot Anderson and Harry Toffolo both seeing shots blocked inside the area.
But a patient Forest took a deserved lead in some style after quarter of an hour. Neat, patient build-up play in midfield culminated in Morgan Gibbs-White spotting the run of Nico Domínguez with a perfectly-weighted lofted pass into the area.
The midfielder then headed the ball down for Wood to convert from close-range for his second goal of pre-season.
The Reds were forced into a charge before the break however when Elliot Anderson was on the receiving end of a strong challenge from a Millwall player, with the summer signing subsequently replaced by Callum Hudson-Odoi.
HALF TIME: Forest 1-0 Millwall
A completely different 11 took to the field after the break and wasted no time in hitting the ground running.
Forest’s high pressing was rewarded as Ryan Yates won possession and played in Hudson-Odoi who coolly slotted into the bottom corner with his left foot one-on-one.
Millwall did grow into the game in the second half and pulled a goal back with 15 minutes remaining through Aidomo Emakhu. The winger latched onto a through ball inside the left channel before finding the back of the net.
But Forest saw the game out well and secured the win ahead of their final friendly against Elche at Pinatar Arena.
