Murillo voted Player of the Season

Forest supporters have voted Murillo as their Player of the Season for 2023/24.

The Brazilian has enjoyed a superb debut season in the Premier League, establishing himself as one of the most exciting young defenders in world football.

The 21-year-old has made 35 appearances in all competitions this season, starting in every one of his Premier League outings since his arrival from Corinthians last summer.

Murillo's passing range, last-ditch challenges as well as his ability to step in from defence and embark on mazy solo runs are characteristics that have certainly caught the eye this season, earning plaudits from supporters, players and pundits alike.

His first Premier League assist against Newcastle on Boxing Day was a prime example of the former, picking out the run of Chris Wood in-behind the Newcastle defence with an inch-perfect left-footed pass.

Whilst he may still be searching for his first Premier League goal, the defender has come mightily close on a number of occasions, narrowly missing out on three extraordinary strikes. 

His first away game in the Premier League - a 0-0 draw at Crystal Palace - saw him receive the ball on halfway, before dancing through the Crystal Palace midfield, breaking into the area and seeing two close-range efforts kept out.

The defender's ability to pick out a target from 70 yards has also been evident in away fixtures against Tottenham Hotspur and Luton Town, where he came inches away from finding the back of the net from inside his own half.

Murillo has undoubtedly enjoyed his first season in English football, insisting it was always "a dream" to play in the Premier League in his first English interview last month.
