Forest picked up a final day victory over Burnley with a 2-1 win at Turf Moor.
The Reds started the game on the front foot and broke the deadlock with just over a minute on the clock.
Anthony Elanga found space on the right before delivering an excellent cross across the face of goal for Chris Wood to hammer home with a first-time effort at the far post.
Just 12 minutes later, Forest found a second goal through Wood.
Morgan Gibbs-White pulled the ball back for Ryan Yates to fire goalwards from the edge of the area, with his shot taking a deflection off Wood and into the back of the net.
The flag was raised, but after a VAR check for offside, the decision was overturned and the goal stood, with the striker netting a quickfire brace and his 15th goal of the season at his former stomping ground.
Burnley came close to halving the deficit six minutes later when Jacob Bruun Larsen pulled the ball back for Zeki Amdouni to fire, but the Swiss international blazed an effort over the crossbar.
Forest had another chance before the break when Anthony Elanga drove inside and curled a shot wide of the far post.
Wilson Odobert saw a close-range effort well blocked by Harry Toffolo in the dying embers of the first half, but The Reds went into the break with a deserved two-goal cushion to show for their dominance.
HALF-TIME: Burnley 0-2 Forest
Forest looked to add to their lead throughout the second half, creating a number of good chances.
Murillo stung the palms of Aro Muric from Danilo’s lay-off, after Wood was unable to find his hat-trick goal, firing just over the bar from inside the area.
Instead, Burnley did pull a goal back with 15 minutes remaining when Josh Cullen’s strike took an unfortunate deflection and nestled into the bottom corner.
That ultimately proved to be a consolation however, as Forest hung onto three points to secure successive away wins in the Premier League for the first time since 1995.
