Forest Women secure three points in the East Midlands derby thanks to a brace from Charlie Wellings.

Carly Davies’ side found themselves one goal behind in the derby with less than ten minutes remaining before Wellings found the bottom corner with a half volley.

The Reds were awarded a penalty in added on time at the Don Amott Arena following a handball in the area; Wellings stepped up from 12 yards and confidently fired home the winner.

Next up for Forest Women is their League Cup second round tie against Division One Midlands side Peterborough United.

The cup tie takes place on Sunday 20th October at Grange Park with tickets available online here as Forest look secure their place in the quarter-finals.
