Forest secure dominant win on Trentside as Sophie Domingo nets her first hat-trick in the Garibaldi.

The Reds hosted Stourbridge at The City Ground in the Northern Premier Division, looking to make it five wins from five in 2024/25.

Reds’ Head Coach Carly Davies made one change to the side that won 6-1 against Wolverhampton Wanderers as Bridget Galloway made her first start in the league.

The hosts started on the front foot at The City Ground as they pushed for the opening goal when Nat Johnson tried for an ambitious strike from distance but saw her shot drift over the bar.

A smart move saw Forest break through the Stourbridge defence again as Charlie Wellings won possession in the final third; finding Galloway in the area to set up Millie Chandarana who couldn’t direct her attempt goalwards.

It was Johnson again posing a threat as the defender’s effort smashed against the woodwork as The Reds searched for an opener.

Forest were rewarded for their positive start when Sophie Domingo skipped past the onrushing keeper, with the loose ball falling to Wellings in the area to score.

With the match just past the half hour mark, Forest doubled their advantage when Johnson tapped home her fourth goal of the season at the back post.

Defender Mollie Green stepped up to take a Red’s free kick 25 yards from goal and hit the back of the net with a stunning strike from distance – her second in as many games at The City Ground.

With the interval in sight, Forest looked to extend their lead when both Bridget Galloway and Johnson had opportunities to score from close range but couldn’t find the target.

HALF TIME: Nottingham Forest 3-0 Stourbridge

Carly Davies made a triple change at the break as Holly Manders, Hollie Olding and Mel Johnson were all introduced with the latter nearly making an instant impact as she broke through on goal, only to see her effort hit the side netting.

Forest’s fourth goal came just two minutes after the restart when substitute Johnson played Domingo through on goal and the number 7 made no mistake to slot past the keeper.

Domingo had her second and The Reds’ fifth following an excellent run from the forward to drift past multiple defenders and calmly score at the Trent End.

With 25 minutes remaining in the league clash, Davies introduced Amy Sims with Freya Thomas making way.

A high press from Manders and Domingo forced an error from the Stourbridge backline which substitute Manders pounced on and scored Forest’s sixth.

There was a final change moments after the goal as Katie Dungate entered the action at The City Ground.

Substitute Johnson got her name on the scoresheet with less than 10 left in the tie, moments before Domingo slotted home her third of the game and her first hat-trick for Forest.

The Reds’ number nine bagged herself a brace in the closing stages, finding the bottom corner in the area as Forest made it back-to-back wins at The City Ground.
