Nottingham Forest welcome Everton to The City Ground this weekend as Nuno Espírito Santo’s side look to return to winning ways in the Premier League.

The Reds go into the match sitting third in the table, having suffered just one defeat in five Premier League outings since the end of February.

Forest are protecting a nine-match unbeaten run on home soil in the league, a run spanning back to November.

The Toffees, meanwhile, are without a win since mid-February, with David Moyes’ side last claiming three Premier League points on their travels against Crystal Palace.

Everton went down 1-0 on their last league away outing with Liverpool claiming maximum points in the Merseyside derby at Anfield.

In Forest’s final fixture of 2024, Nuno’s side won 2-0 in our final trip to Goodison Park in this season’s previous meeting between the Reds and the Toffees.

Chris Wood’s clever finish opened the scoring for Forest on 15 minutes, before Morgan Gibbs-White doubled our advantage just after the hour mark to wrap up the points.

Man in the middle

Craig Pawson

Craig Pawson will officiate Forest’s clash with Everton at The City Ground on Saturday in what will be the official’s fourth match involving the Reds this season, and third at The City Ground.

Previously, Pawson has been the referee for three Forest fixtures, starting with October’s 3-1 win against Leicester City, before December’s 1-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur and January’s trip to AFC Bournemouth, Pawson’s last match in charge of a Forest match.

The official has equally been in charge for three fixtures involving Everton, the most recent being their goalless draw between the Toffees and Arsenal in December.

In all, across 18 Premier League matches in 2024/25, Pawson has awarded 81 yellow cards, including a second yellow once. In addition, he has handed out two red cards and pointed to the penalty spot on three separate occasions.

Assisting Pawson on Trentside will be Tim Wood and Craig Taylor. Anthony Backhouse is on fourth official duty and John Brooks has been chosen for VAR.
