Get ready for Friday night netball, as Nottingham Forest Netball take on London Mavericks at the Motorpoint Arena (FCP 7.30pm).
In our debut season, Forest have already shown potential. After an eye-catching 73-71 victory over the defending champions Loughborough Lightning, the team is hungry for more in the Netball Super League.
London Mavericks will be eager to continue their solid start to the season. After securing victory over Birmingham Panthers, Mavericks will be looking to continue their form this evening. Last week, it was Emily Andrew who delivered the composed shot in the final seconds to hand the Mavericks a dramatic win.
Forest are led by the Northern Irish international captain, Niamh Cooper. She is determined to deny the opposition in her defensive position as wing defence, leading the team to victory.
Under the expert guidance of Tamsin Greenway and Camilla Buchanan, the Mavericks boast a new-look squad that blends experience with fresh energy. With star players like England international Razia Quashie joining the ranks for the season.
One to watch is Jayda Pechova who is one of the Netball Super League’s most exciting young talents. Being a versatile player at both goalkeeper and goal defence, Pechova made a name for herself with her performances for Team Bath during two seasons.
Three Forest points could see the Reds leapfrog Mavericks in the Super League table, with Chelsea Pitman’s side currently three points behind their opponents in our debut campaign.
