Nuno Espírito Santo paid tribute to the Nottingham Forest fans following the Reds’ 2-1 win against Tottenham Hotspur at the home of the North London side.

First half goals from Elliot Anderson and Chris Wood proved enough for Forest to claim the three points at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Monday evening.

Richarlison pulled a goal back for the home side late on, but Forest recorded another win which sees Nuno’s Reds return to third in the Premier League table.

Speaking to Forest TV after the final whistle, the Forest Head Coach was quick to praise the backing of the travelling Reds in helping his side claim the three points.

“There is no better way to finish a game than to go and see the fans celebrating. The way they have supported the team, they are the ones to push the players to give their all and we cannot thank them enough.

“It’s always about how we bounce back. The results weren’t good but it hurts more when you don’t perform the way we want.

“Today we did it, we bounced back and we reacted. It was all about our actions and we did it. I’m very proud of the players.

“We are in a fight nobody expected; a fight we want to compete in and be involved in.

“There is so much football to be played but we are in it. The wish and commitment of the players is huge.

“We started really well, not only the goals but the control we had. We dominated without the ball.

“There have been players unavailable and we had to find solutions and everyone in the squad has their part to play.”
