Harry Toffolo emphasised the importance of controlling their own future after returning to third in the Premier League with a 2-1 away win against Tottenham Hotspur.

The full-back made his first league start of the season in North London where first half goals from Elliot Anderson and Chris Wood were enough for the Reds to record their first win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Toffolo’s fine goal line clearance in the second period helped preserve the Reds’ two-goal advantage at a crucial stage of the contest, and after being serenaded by the traveling support following the final whistle, he revealed how the moment created a special memory for him and his family.

“I have a big thing in my life that you can only control the controllable, there are a lot of distractions but ultimately, we can’t take our eye off the ball.

“Today we didn’t, and it’s an away win. We knew it was going to be difficult coming to Tottenham, we trained all week to get the gameplan right and we did that.

“Everyone was great, all the lads that came on did their job.

“The fans should feel really proud, and I know they do, because there’s such a connection at the minute. I’ve been here nearly three years now and I’ve seen the relegation battles.

“But this is a really fun time to be a Forest fan.

“My son came to the game and he was in tears listening to the fans singing my song, so the fans have given my family a memory there and I can only say thank you.”
