Nottingham Forest can confirm that defender Fin Back has joined Wycombe Wanderers on a permanent transfer.

Fin joined the Forest Academy at the age of eight, working his way up through the age groups before earning his first professional contract in 2019.

Having extended his deal two years later, Back made his professional debut for Forest in August 2021, starting in an EFL Cup fixture against Bradford. A week later he made his league debut against Blackburn Rovers in the Championship at The City Ground.

After making 18 appearances in the first half of the 2022/23 season on loan at League Two Carlisle, Back returned to the Cumbria side the following season after their promotion to League One, making 21 appearances across the season.

While at Forest Back has remained an integral part of the B Team, both on and off the pitch, and now heads to high-flying Wycombe who are second in League One and pushing for promotion.

Craig Mulholland, Head of Football Development & Talent Management, said: “We would like to wish Fin good luck in this next step in his football career.  Fin has been an exceptional individual to have in the Forest Academy and the time is right for him to step into first team football on a permanent basis.

“I know I speak for the many staff who have worked with him over many years in wishing him good luck for his career, and the values and work ethic he has developed in Forest Academy will see him have a successful career.

“Fin will always be welcome back at the City Ground and we wish him well at Wycombe who we know have ambitious plans for the future.”
