Forest B team shared the points in the East Midlands Derby thanks to a second-half strike from Kristian Fletcher.

The East Midlands derby took place on Monday night, with Forest's B Team looking to bounce back from their loss last week against Sutton United.

Forest started the match strong, playing well and creating lovely interchangeable passes among their front players. Joel Ndala, who joined Forest on loan from Manchester City just before the deadline, began to cause problems for the Derby backline. He made a good run along the byline and cut the ball back to Powell, but his shot narrowly missed the crossbar.

However, it was the away side that took the lead in the 18th minute. Forest failed to clear the ball, allowing it to be crossed in from the right side, where Derby's striker, Lennon Wheeldon, met it and scored, beating Murray-Jones.

Warren Joyce's men responded well and continued to threaten Derby's backline. It was Ndala once again who raced through, bringing the ball to the edge of the area, only to see Nadin's well-struck effort just clear the top of the crossbar.

The Forest press was high, and late in the first half, Nadin slipped the ball to Sinclair inside the Derby penalty area. Unfortunately, Sinclair's effort didn’t trouble the Derby keeper, and the score remained 1-0 as they went into the break.

HALF TIME: Forest 0-1 Derby

Forest began the second half strongly, and it was clear that young Ndala was making a significant impact. After receiving a cutback from the byline, his curling effort towards the top corner was pushed away by the Derby 'keeper.

Forest equalised in the 79th minute when Kristian Fletcher beat the offside trap. Racing through one-on-one with the Derby goalkeeper, he took his time and skilfully slotted the ball into the top corner, giving Forest a deserved equaliser.

After the goal, Forest and Ndala looked for a winner. Ndala cut in again and attempted to find the top corner, but his effort narrowly missed the post. The young winger, on his Forest debut, was starting to find his rhythm in the team.

In the closing stages, the match became end-to-end, but the points were shared in an entertaining East Midlands derby. This result marked two games unbeaten for Warren Joyce's men in the league.
