Head Coach Nuno Espírito Santo wants his players to be stronger ‘in all aspects of the game’ for the rest of the season, as Nottingham Forest look to return to winning ways at Newcastle United on Sunday.
Forest went down 2-1 at Fulham last weekend having emphatically seen off Brighton & Hove Albion 7-0 at The City Ground the Premier League matchday before.
After last weekend’s defeat in West London, Nuno said his players need to be stronger in the decisive moment of the season, whilst encouraging the team to bounce back on Tyneside.
When asked in his pre-match press conference what areas he wanted his players to be stronger, Nuno warned of the difficulties of games towards the end of the season and the strength needed to deal with the run-in.
“I want us to be stronger in all aspects of the game. This season we have competed really well, which is what we expect for the final stages of the season.” Nuno told the media.
“Each game the opponents will seem harder and more difficult but we have to be stronger and deal with what is all around us; the expectations, our own beliefs, moments where the players cannot sustain performances. That is what I mean by being stronger.”

Elliot Anderson moved to The City Ground from the Magpies in the summer transfer window going on to make 26 appearances in Forest red across the competitions including 24 in the Premier League.
Nuno believes he has settled well into the squad and there is plenty more to come from the 22-year-old as he continues to develop his game at the Nigel Doughty Academy ahead of his first return to St James’ Park since his summer transfer.
“He’s settled down pretty well, the squad has helped him. He’s happy and he’s playing really good.
“He’s one of our midfielders that’s versatile enough to change positions and I think he is doing well.
“Immediately after he joined we went to Spain in pre-season. That was when the squad integrated the new players and immediately I think he was comfortable and enjoying himself.
“He’s very young but very talented, there’s no doubt about it but he still has so many details to improve. You can see he is putting in plenty of effort and I think he is doing well.”
