Nottingham Forest take on Arsenal in the Premier League on Wednesday evening in what will be their first fixture at The City Ground in three (kick-off 7.30pm).

Nuno’s Reds are six points behind the Gunners in the Premier League table, but victory Trentside would see that gap reduced to just three.

Forest are looking to return to winning ways having been narrowly beaten at Newcastle United on Sunday. The Reds are also looking to extend their unbeaten home run having remained unbeaten in NG2 since November.

The Gunners meanwhile, fell to a 1-0 home defeat at the hands of West Ham United on Saturday.

Forest have claimed the spoils on three of the last four matches between the two sides at The City Ground.

Arsenal claimed the points in this fixture last season with goals from Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka, with Taiwo Awoniyi on target for the Reds.

Man in the Middle – Andrew Madley

Andrew Madley

Andrew Madley has been selected to officiate Forest’s clash with Arsenal at The City Ground on Wednesday night.

The official has overseen 13 Premier League games this season, with his most recent being Everton’s 2-2 draw with Manchester United on Saturday lunchtime.

Wednesday evening’s match however will not be his first involving Forest or Arsenal, with Madley having been the VAR for games involving both clubs.

The experienced official was the VAR for both of Forest’s games against AFC Bournemouth this season. He was also the VAR for Arsenal’s 1-1 draw with Brentford in August.

Madley has dished out 52 yellow cards this season, whilst awarding a single red card. He has pointed to the penalty spot on two separate occasions when officiating matches in the Premier League.

Eddie Smart and Craig Taylor will act as assistant referees in NG2, with Anthony Taylor confirmed as the fourth official. Michael Salisbury is on VAR duty.
