Nuno Espírito Santo has called on the Nottingham Forest fans to be the Reds’ 12th man tomorrow night when Forest welcome Arsenal to The City Ground.

Forest haven’t played on home turf since February 1st, travelling to Fulham and Newcastle United in the Premier League since then with an FA Cup fourth round tie away at Exeter City sandwiched in between the two matches.

The Reds are back in NG2 on Wednesday evening looking for their first win since the visit of Brighton & Hove Albion at the start of the month.

Nuno says he is relishing a return to home soil and believes the noise generated by the Reds’ faithful can help Forest record a positive result against the Gunners.

“We’ve been away for too much time. We’ve missed the atmosphere at The City Ground and I really believe this can help us.” Nuno told Forest TV.

“It can help us in the moment as the team needs it.

“Our fans and The City Ground have been helpful; they’ve played the game alongside us.

“This season there have been many moments when they have been the 12th player on the pitch, they were the energy of the players, the clearances off the line.

“We’ve been there together.”

Whilst Forest’s home form has remained solid, the Reds have suffered defeat in their last two away games, but Nuno is clear on what his team needs to do differently to turn recent results around against Arsenal.

“The players have to be responsible for their tasks, enjoy the game and enjoy the moment. We have to support them whilst realising it is difficult to always be at our best.

“There have been things we have done bad in previous performances and this is hurting us and we have to put it right.”
