Nottingham Forest claimed their first Premier League point in three matches during tonight’s goalless draw with Arsenal at The City Ground.

Forest went into the match unbeaten on home turf since September, a record they maintained against the Gunners.

Both sides had chances to win the game in an evenly contested fixture but the points were ultimately shared at The City Ground.

There was little in the way of chances for either side in the opening 45 minutes with both sides cancelling each other out.

Arsenal came closest to opening the scoring on 23 minutes when Riccardo Calafiori’s curling effort came back off the inside of Matz Sels’ post before Ola Aina reacted quickest to clear the danger.

Forest found their way to the final third on plenty of occasions without forcing David Raya in the Arsenal goal into any meaningful saves.

With minutes remaining of the opening 45, the Gunners created another half chance when Ethan Nwaneri was played in behind the Forest defence, but Murillo reacted well and deflected the Arsenal winger’s effort behind for a corner.

Half-time: Forest 0-0 Arsenal

Five minutes into the second period Arsenal had the first attempt of the second period when Mikel Merino connected with Declan Rice’s corner to send the ball goalwards, but Sels did well to parry the effort away from immediate danger.

The Gunners continued to look threatening from set pieces o 55 minutes when half-time substitute Kieran Tierney headed just wide from a Martin Ødegaard corner.

With the final 20 minutes approaching in NG2, Forest created their best chance of the night when Gibbs-White cleverly put Chris Wood in on goal, but Raya parried the forward’s effort away from goal.

Moments later the Forest attacker was denied another effort on the Arsenal goal when Saliba’s last-ditch challenge halted the Reds in their tracks.

With time running down at The City Ground, Murillo made an outstanding goalline clearance to keep out Ødegaard’s effort before Sels was quick off his line to keep out the rebound. The flag was already raised for offside.

Ultimately time ran out for both sides in NG2 with both teams claiming a Premier League point.

The Reds are back at The City Ground on Monday night when they welcome Ipswich Town to Nottingham in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
