Forest youngster Zach Abbott has been involved in both of the Reds’ matchday squads in the Emirates FA Cup so far this season, a record he will be hoping to keep up when Ipswich Town head to NG2 in the Emirates FA Cup on Monday evening.

The 18-year-old made his Forest debut in August 2022 in the Carabao Cup, since going on to make five senior appearances in the competition.

Abbott has impressed Nuno in training and in the chances he has been given at first team level under the Head Coach whilst highlighting the importance of the Academy at Nottingham Forest.

“Zach has been involved in a lot of training sessions and we decided at the start of the season that he should join us in the full squad.

“He had a good pre-season, played in the Carabao Cup against Newcastle United, the talent is there.

“He is a very positive boy who wants to work in every minute of every training session. I think he’s in the right place to become what we want.

“The success of an Academy is what we always have an Academy player in our squad.

“The best way of learning is having experienced players around you. He has four top centre backs to look at.”
