Forest made history with six wins on the bounce with 3-0 victory away at Wolves, courtesy of first half goals from Morgan Gibbs-White, Chris Wood, and Taiwo Awoniyi’s last-minute finish.

Forest raced to the perfect start, as Gibbs-White collected the ball deep and strode into the Wolves half, before playing a slick one-two with Elanga and sidefooting the return past José Sá and into the back of the net to open the scoring.

Matz Sels still had work to do despite the Reds’ defensive resilience, palming away Gomes’ curled effort, and making two crucial point-blank stops to deny Strand Larsen from levelling for the hosts.

Forest then piled on the pressure, looking to double their advantage, leading to a VAR check for a potential handball against Aït-Nouri as Ola Aina sought to force a dangerous ball into the box, but nothing was given and play resumed.

Our probing eventually proved fruitful, as Sels switched play out to Hudson-Odoi, who broke towards the byline before squaring to the penalty spot for an ever-present Chris Wood to score his 12th goal of the season.

Despite the hosts seeing a lot of the ball after the second goal, they were unable to penetrate the Reds’ back line and we ended the first half with a two-goal cushion

HALF TIME: Wolves 0-2 Forest

The second half started as we’ve come to expect from Nuno Espírito Santo’s Forest, with the back four soaking up the pressure before it could reach Matz Sels’ goal.

The Reds then began asserting themselves again, Wood heading over from a corner and Murillo firing a free kick over from range, before Sels was called back into action as Strand Larsen looked to profit from a quick break.

Jota Silva, who replaced Elanga earlier in the half, then plucked down a clearance out on the right wing, before floating the ball onto the head of Hudson-Odoi with just the keeper to beat, but the cross was just behind him and it drifted wide of the target.

Wood then made way for Taiwo Awoniyi, who immediately looked to trouble the Wolves defence, latching onto a poor pass-back from Matt Doherty but prodding just wide.

The centre-forward then reaped the rewards of his hard work since his introduction, as Nikola Milenković’s lofted ball was met by Hudson-Odoi and played through to another fresh substitute in James Ward-Prowse, who squared for Awoniyi to tap into an empty net.

This result leaves Forest third in the Premier League, and marks a historic sixth win on the bounce in the top-flight since 1966/67.

The Reds return to action on Saturday against Luton Town in the FA Cup at The City Ground, and are at home again on Tuesday where they face Liverpool in the Premier League.
