ROUTE TO THE FINAL FOUR
Forest booked their place in the semi-finals following wins against local rivals Notts County and Division One North leaders Cheadle Town Stingers, before hosting Peterborough United at Grange Park in the second round.
The Reds cruised into the next round with a dominant display in front of the Forest faithful as five different scorers found the back of the net in a 6-0 win over the Posh.
Victory on home soil set up a trip to Teesside to face Middlesbrough in Forest’s final fixture of 2024. Charlie Wellings opened the scoring for the visitors in the first 45, before Boro equalised via an emphatic finish from Lauren Robson. The Reds soon restored their one-goal advantage when Freya Thomas slotted home what turned out to be the winning goal.
Carly Davies’ side now prepare for a clash against Hashtag United as the 2022/23 winners, Forest, meet the reigning champions, United, at Parkside on Sunday afternoon.
LAST TIME OUT
Forest returned to Northern Premier Division action last weekend, taking on 10th place side Sporting Khalsa at the Guardian Warehousing Arena.
Davies’ side secured all three points thanks to a 74th minute strike from substitute Katie Dungate. The win sees Forest maintain their lead at the top of the table, one point ahead of Wolverhampton Wanderers.
