Last week, ahead of the Liverpool fixture, over 170 ticketing accounts were identified as ticket touts, with action taken and the accounts subsequently shut down. For each of our home fixtures throughout previous seasons as well as this current campaign, dozens of accounts have been identified and shut down.
Touting is an illegal practise in the UK and is defined by any ticket re-selling outside of the authorised means as defined by the Club, whether that be at, below, or above face value.
Following thorough checks, investigatory work, and recognising purchasing patterns, hundreds of accounts have been shut down across the season. As a result, most of the tickets sold via third-party ticket re-selling websites, such as StubHub, LiveFootballTickets, FootballTicketNet, and more, are invalidated, with victims of touting frequently visiting the Ticket Office on matchdays.
Whilst third-party ticket re-selling websites are the most prolific source of touted tickets, social media, especially Facebook, is also a regular channel for ticket touts.
We encourage supporters to be extra vigilant with tickets, and any suspected ticket touting activity can now be reported by emailing touting@nottinghamforest.co.uk. Legitimate Nottingham Forest Football Club tickets can only be purchased here.
Supporters can find more information regarding safe ticket buying here, whilst our T&Cs can be found here.
The Club will continue to take strict action against any unauthorised ticket resellers.
