Forest fell to their first defeat in nine Premier League games after a disappointing afternoon against AFC Bournemouth.

Nuno Espírito Santo named two changes to the side that defeated Southampton 3-2 last time out, with Nico Domínguez making way for Ryan Yates and Jota Silva replacing the injured Callum Hudson-Odoi.

The hosts broke the deadlock inside nine minutes when Justin Kluivert drove at the Forest defence and found the bottom corner from 20 yards.

Forest responded well but were unable to find an equaliser, with Yates’ dangerous shot turned behind by Kepa and Gibbs-White also firing just wide from a good position.

The Reds came closest to finding the net after the break when Nikola Milenković’s looping header was tipped over the crossbar by Kepa as Nuno’s side applied pressure early in the second half.

But down the other end, the Cherries doubled their lead when Kluivert’s cross was headed back across goal by Dango Ouattara whose attempt looped into the far corner.

The hosts had a third goal disallowed moments later when Kluivert and Ouattara exchanged quick passes before finding the bottom corner, but the latter was adjudged to be offside by VAR who disallowed the goal.

But Andoni Iraola’s side did score a third moments after that decision as Ouattara fired beyond Matz Sels and into the bottom corner for 3-0 on the hour.

Anthony Elanga’s free-kick shaded the woodwork as Forest looked to regain momentum and pull a goal back.

But Ouattara added his third and Bournemouth’s fourth four minutes from time as he followed up to complete his hat-trick from close-range.

Antoine Semenyo made it 5-0 in the closing stages as Forest fell to defeat for the first time in nine games.
