With Anthony Elanga set for some international football with Sweden later this evening, we caught up with the Forest winger to get the low-down on some of the lesser known facts about the 22-year-old.
Best friend (s) in current dressing room?
I’ve got too many! There’s Ola, Callum, Willy Boly, Ibra Sangaré, Morgan, I can’t pick one!
Best friend (s) in football?
There’s a few again! Teden Mengi from Luton, Fabio Carvalho from Brentford, Cameron Antwi at Newport County, Jai Semenyo. There’s so many! There are many friends but I’m quite close with them.
Best dressing room DJ?
Callum Hudson Odoi has good tunes but he mixes it up a little bit, he plays to the Brazilians, the English lads plays to the French lads.
If you had to sing one song in front of the squad what would it be?
Hello by Adele! I’ve got a good voice! I play the piano as well whilst singing!
What is the most Swedish thing about you?
I’m very nice and a very kind person I’d say. I like to help out a lot and I think that’s quite a Swedish thing.
What is your favourite Swedish delicacy?
Cinnamon buns! They’re originally from Sweden so they’re the best. The closest I’ve had was in Dubai in a banana pudding and that was top tier!
How does one learn five different languages?
It’s about knowing one language and if there are any similarities with another language, it can be quite easy to pick it up. It’s an easy thing to say but a really hard thing to do!
Who is the better footballer, you or your dad?
Me! 100%. He’d agree as well!
Who is toughest player he’s faced in matches or training?
I would probably pick Aaron Wan-Bissaka at Manchester United in training. He’s another one of my closest friends as well.
How would you rate Nottingham as a city to live in?
It’s a lovely city, especially where I’m staying. It’s a lovely area and I’m able to go for walks and things like that. The people are really welcoming and kind and it’s been like that since the first day I came here. I love it here, it’s so amazing and calm.
What is your Ultimate Team name?
I don’t play that any more! I’m in for clubs with different clubs. One day I’m with one team the next I’m with another. I’m more of a Fortnite guy I’d say, let’s not go there on my wins!
Who is Anthony Elanga away from football?
Anthony Elanga away from football is a chilled guy. He’ll go to training, finish training, do his recovery at the training ground, ice bath, sauna, go home, do some more recovery, red light bed, oxygen chamber, watch some series and repeat the next day.
What is your go to board game (s)?
Ludo on the iPad. It’s a big game at the club as well so I’ve brought it home with me. Monopoly or UNO are in there too. Or four in a row, I’m really good at four in a row, probably the best at the club.
Tell us something about you that not many people will know.
I’ve already said it but playing the piano and singing. My go to would be ‘Hello’ or ‘All of Me’ by John Legend. It’s not easy to play piano but that’s quite easy to learn.
As tomatoes are fruits would you consider ketchup a jam?
No! That’s a good question though, you can put ketchup on toast if you’re having scrambled eggs on toast but not without, but I wouldn’t class it as a jam, impossible, you can’t!
