Forest 3-0 West Ham United | November 2
An already memorable afternoon at The City Ground was capped off when Ola Aina netted arguably Forest’s goal of the season so far against West Ham United.
The Reds went ahead in the first half when Chris Wood continued his fine goalscoring form since the start of the campaign, by heading in Álex Moreno's whipped cross into the Hammers’ box.
The visitors were reduced to 10 men when Lucas Paquetá was sent off just before the break, but the second half would get better and better for the Reds.
Callum Hudson-Odoi’s curling effort from the edge of the box doubled the lead for Nuno Espírito Santo’s side before Aina capped the day with a sensational strike.
After bursting down the Forest right, keeping possession despite the best efforts of the West Ham rearguard, Aina unleashed an unstoppable left-footed strike into the top left corner of the net. The three points were Forest’s in the most sensational way.
Forest 2-1 Aston Villa | December 14
A late fightback from the Reds in December secured a memorable win for Nuno’s side against Aston Villa which took Forest above the champions, Manchester City in the Premier League table.
After Emiliano Martínez had denied Nicolás Domínguez from point-blank range early in the second period, Jhon Duran’s powerful header from a John McGinn cross looked to be enough for the three points for the away side.
Chris Wood saw an equaliser ruled out by VAR on an evening when everything seemed to be going against the Reds, with Anthony Elanga ruled to be offside in the build-up.
However, with three minutes remaining, Forest levelled the scores when Nikola Milenković headed home his second goal in Garibaldi from a Morgan Gibbs-White cross.
Six minutes later, deep into added time in NG2, Elliot Anderson’s determination won the ball back for the Reds on the left flank, before the England Under-21 international squared the ball for Elanga to place the ball into the net, sending The City Ground wild, and securing the win for the Reds.
Forest 7-0 Brighton & Hove Albion | February 1
A simply stunning afternoon at The City Ground. Forest went into the match having suffered defeat at AFC Bournemouth the weekend before.
Any fears of a repeat on home turf were allayed when Lewis Dunk could only put Morgan Gibbs-White’s cross beyond his own ‘keeper on 12 minutes before the Reds added a further two before half-time.
After a Save of the Month nominated save from Matz Sels to preserve the Forest advantage, Gibbs-White got himself on the scoresheet, heading home Anthony Elanga’s in-swinging corner on 25 minutes and Chris Wood made it three seven minutes later, heading in another whipped Elanga delivery.
Elanga completed his hat-trick of assists on 64 minutes when he crossed for Wood to tap home his second of the game, and the New Zealand international completed his hat-trick with 20 minutes remaining when he drilled the ball into the net from the penalty spot.
Neco Williams rifled the ball into the top left corner with 60 seconds remaining before Jota rounded off the scoring on a sensational afternoon at The City Ground in added time.
Forest 1-0 Manchester City | March 8
The Premier League’s early kick-off came from The City Ground and on a balmy afternoon in NG2, it was the Reds on hot form.
Forest were resolute in their play, restricting the Premier League champions Manchester City in their play, whilst causing issues for the visitors in their own box.
Callum Hudson-Odoi’s stinging effort almost took the roof off The City Ground, only for Ederson to get a glove to the ball and tip the effort onto the post.
Forest continued to press and the breakthrough would come in spectacular style seven minutes from time.
Morgan Gibbs-White’s stunning cross field pass found Hudson-Odoi in space in the right channel.
The Forest winger made his way into the box before finishing beyond Ederson to secure the win for the Reds.
