- Wood sent for scan on hip injury
Nuno Espírito Santo has confirmed Nottingham Forest will be without Chris Wood for the Reds’ Emirates FA Cup quarter-final against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday.
Forest’s top scorer in 2024/25 was substituted 10 minutes into the second half of New Zealand’s OFC final qualifying match against New Caledonia after an awkward landing on his hip.
Wood returned to the club following the international period, but Nuno confirmed in his pre-match press conference the forward has gone for a scan on the injury he sustained representing his country.
“He went for a scan today, we’re still waiting. He went to see a specialist for the scan so we’re waiting for the information.
“He’s not going to be available for this game (against Brighton). He fell really hard on his hip and there is some pain there, so we have to wait.
“Every time we have an international break players come back in different conditions, so we have to assess them and many of them have arrived today. We’re waiting on (Ramón) Sosa tomorrow, then we can assess them.”
